Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation at times. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. This ability that allowed her to get her first job as an Univision producer assistant Miami. She collaborated with producers for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent for KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where she became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often requested to be anchors for the weather and sports. She was then anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her larger responsibilities. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor. She has been promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same capacity, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents are originally native to Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. Her older sister is also hers. The family moved to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. She completed her schooling and was admitted to the university for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for many years, became her friend. He encouraged her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She determined to meet the expectations of him and not fail him.
